Jan 2012 - KCA contract work - Community Directory and Website
KCA is seeking someone to undertake work in two areas – Community Directory and website development. You may apply to undertake either one or both areas. We have set out each area below as separate pieces of work. Local knowledge is essential.
Community Directory:
· Compile the Kilcullen Community Directory. It is several years since KCA published the previous Community Directory – it includes information on commercial, voluntary, community, sporting and other organisations. We wish to put together an updated community directory and the first task will be to develop a database of all local organisations as set out above, so familiarity with Microsoft Access is essential.
· Desk research, information available from the recently completed Community Survey and other sources of information will need to be reviewed to put together a comprehensive directory.
· We intend to mainly publish this online, but will also publish a version of the Community Directory in The Bridge.
Website Development
· The KCA website at www.kilcullencommunityaction.ie is currently live and is updated with KCA events on a relatively regular basis.
· We wish to explore the possibility of developing a more interactive website to include links to other organisations, community calendar, an on-line community directory and a community forum. More details on this are available on request.
· Design and extensive website experience is essential
Please apply for one or both areas, giving details of your background in similar areas of work and how you might approach the project(s). This work will be done from your own home so access to a computer and broadband is essential. We would encourage you to contact Orla O’Neill to discuss the project so you have a good understanding of the scope of the work– there is funding available but it is limited.

November 2011 Kilcullen Community Survey
As part of the Community Survey being carried out by KCA, anyone who didn’t have a researcher call to their door and is interested in having an input will get an opportunity Saturday 12th Nov.
The Town Hall will be open from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Saturday, 12th Nov and questionnaires can be filled out there.
The questionnaire takes about 15 minutes and no personal questions are asked, just your views on Kilcullen as it is now and how you would like it to be.

Kilcullen Community Survey
Kilcullen Community Researchers are walking the streets as we write, knocking on doors and asking local people their views, hopes and aspirations for life in the town.
Please give them your time so we can plan to make Kilcullen a better place to live and work.
Each researcher has an ID card with their photo, name and the KCA telephone number if you would like further information before you answer questions. The telephone no is 085 1372710.

KCA Community Awards
The annual KCA Community Awards take place on Friday October 21st at 8pm in the Town Hall. The final date for nominations is October 14th. If you think any group or individual should receive recognition for work done for the community, then don't delay: please send your nominations to info@kilcullencommunityaction.ie or by text to 085 1372710. Or give them to any KCA member. Everyone is welcome to attend the Awards night.
